The Inherent Worth and Dignity of Every Human Being
“We believe that all the dimensions of our being carry the potential to do good. We celebrate the gifts of being human: our intelligence and capacity for observation and reason, our senses and ability to appreciate beauty, our creativity, our feelings and emotions. We cherish our bodies as well as our souls. We can use our gifts to offer love, to work for justice, to heal injury, to create pleasure for ourselves and others.” – Rev. Dr. Rebecca Ann Parker
My travels have not been extensive by the standards of most Lens-Artists, but I have been privileged to meet people in my own country who represent a diversity of backgrounds and experiences. There is a wealth of richness in this cornucopia of humans, a treasure beyond imagining. May we all be supported and allowed to thrive.
“It’s really a wonder that I haven’t dropped all my ideals, because they seem so absurd and impossible to carry out. Yet I keep them, because in spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.” ― Anne Frank, The Diary of a Young Girl

Loved your post Priscilla. Your images truly speak to your text and your quotes and deliver your message perfectly. Your images have captured the spirit of your subjects beautifully.
Hi Priscilla. I really think it’s the quality of our interactions that counts. You have marvelous portraits here. I enjoyed them! Great smiles, great moments.
Priscilla, your opening photo alone would have been enough for me. Great opener! Your text and subsequent photos were great, too. I especially liked this you wrote: “May we all be supported and allowed to thrive.” Hooray!
I loved all the smiles you’ve captured in these photos. Smiles are contagious. I don’t travel extensively either, but there’s plenty to photograph here in the U. S.
You included the Anne Frank quote that hung in my classroom for years. Even tattered I put it up year after year. The power of it is off the charts. Loved all the expressions you captured, Priscilla. That tells the true soul of a person. And for me, the expression of the little boy with the worm is classic and simply wonderful. That would be a framer for a parent! Or a bait shop lol. Loved all this. A reflection of who you are always comes across.
Simply wonderful. I too have had the privilege of meeting people from the most varied backgrounds. My life is richer as a result.
Thanks, Sofia! Yes, the value is inestimable. 🙂
