“From the day we arrive on the planet And, blinking, step into the sun
There’s more to see than can ever be seen More to do than can ever be done There’s far too much to take in here More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round
It’s the circle of life And it moves us all Through despair and hope Through faith and love ‘Til we find our place On the path unwinding In the circle The circle of life.” – Carmen Twillie and Lebo M
I spent the last 10 days circling back to Wisconsin to care for my eldest adult child after surgery. Enfolding her in my arms, comforting her, and kissing her good-night brought my heart and soul to a place of simple purpose and wonder-filled peace. In the circle of life, caring for each other, loving wholeheartedly, is the wheel that keeps us moving forward, generation by generation. I guess I still believe that Love makes the world go ’round.
Thank you, Ann-Christine, for a round world of beautiful images on your challenge! See it HERE.
What a lovely post -In the circle of life – lovely thoughts. I truly enjoyed your choices. the tree tops so fitting for the thought in the last paragraph .
Hoping your daughter heals quickly. I imagine she is as comforted by you as you were seeing and feeling her. I used to say, when all my kids are in the same place at the same time, I am most content, and I sleep so well. It’s not that I don’t otherwise, but there is this sense of feeling complete in those moments…I guess. Yes, love makes the world go around.
Once again, I loved the way your poetry weaved its way around your photos, Priscilla. My favorites are of the photographer, and the sand dollar. But all of them were creative selections for the challenge.
So well-done Priscilla, but I most loved your comments about your time with your daughter. I’ve just returned from a week with my brother who is suffering from dementia. Comforting our loved ones tops the list of the things we do that can be the most difficult but are the most rewarding.
Clever captures!
Thank you!
You are welcome, my friend.
A thoughtful and beautiful post, Priscilla. Back to our origins and to our neverending Circle of Life. Hope your daughter is well now.
Thank you, Ann-Christine. She is healing very well. ๐

Beautiful post Priscilla! Love the imagery and narrative. Caring for an adult child does give a mom a sense of purpose.
