Thanks, Mary. That sky was a beautiful, peaceful alternative to the noise and violence of fireworks this last weekend. Glad this land is big enough that I can exercise my choice, and that I’m privileged to have a car. Feeling compassion for those who don’t have those options when the bombs are bursting in air.
Great take on looking up, Scilla. I hadn’t heard JT’s song before and played it twice! Looking up at the sky always lifts my spirits. Your cloud shots are a great reminder. M
Wide open sky gives me the feeling of expansiveness and freedom. A great antidote to feeling stuck. We had a huge thunderstorm on Thursday – buckets of rain – a Midwestern specialty.
Yes, I miss the huge skies and powerful storms. Majestic!
I moved back to the Midwest after 15 years in CA, bringing my 5th generation Californian husband and 4 kids. My late husband had never seen as much rain in his lifetime as we did our first afternoon in Illinois!
Nice photos and thanks for the James Taylor. I finally got to hear him play last year. He gave a great concert. A very generous and gentle musician.
I heard him Aug. 3, 2001 – will never forget! Such a talented musician and poet. Thanks for your visit!
My pleasure!
Lovely post Scilla. I’ve loved James Taylor since 1970. Beautiful sky. I like your take on looking up – things are looking up. 🙂

Yes! Like pets!
Mmm, yes. I don’t have any, but I have heard that the 4th can be traumatic for them. Thank you for the reminder!
Lovely images, and I love this James Taylor song. 🙂
I like to think he’d like the images, too. 😉 Thanks for your visit!

Thanks, Meg. I do so love big sky and landscape views. They’re so therapeutic for “spiritual claustrophobia”, when I’m feeling stuck.
Lovely! Here up means low hanging cloud and the occasional raindrop in the eye. We need more rain, and more JT.
