I’m really enjoying seeing balconies from my fellow Lens Artists who are world travelers! They are so diverse and interesting and culturally influenced by weather and social status and other factors. Our host, PR, gives many beautiful examples – visit our inspiration HERE.
When I visited New Orleans in May, I was very impressed with the balconies in the French Quarter. I suppose they function to move air in the upper stories of these city buildings, but they are decorated so lavishly as well.

However, as a performer and a theater nerd, my first thoughts about balconies are about the ones inside a concert hall or theater.

Beautiful and varied gallery! Great shots!
Thanks!
Great balconies! I’ve never heard of that term “balcony people” I love it though. I can’t say I’ve ever stood on a stage looking into the balconies, I’m only in the audience. Maybe I’ll get to New Orleans one day.
Thanks, Alison! Yes, New Orleans is a sight to behold, a vibe to groove on…for a while. It’s a bit overwhelming, so I can only take a small dose. 🙂
We may visit next year, if time allows!
I think I would have been really impressed with them as well. They seem to really add to the ambience. Great photos.
Thanks, Leanne!
Thanks for sharing New Orleans, I like the indoor balcony and the thought of a view from the stage
You’re welcome, Ritva. The view from a stage always thrills me! 🙂
Gorgeous selection, Priscilla! New Orleans balconies look both charming and bold. I was really hoping that someone would show the balconies in a theater! Very interesting thoughts on “balcony people”. I had not known that. Thanks for sharing with the Lens-Artists challenge 😀.
Thanks, PR! I enjoyed the challenge; I hope you enjoyed hosting!
I’m happy as a balcony person but I will make the jump to orchestra person when necessary. Love your balcony shots.
I like that…an orchestra person, providing the supporting sound track, being harmonious, creating colorful texture, all achieved through time spent practicing to contribute in an artistic way. ❤ Love it!
Great photos. 👏 I love that corner building with ferns and ironwork. Great perspective.
Thanks, John!
I love the creativity of your last one. I thought about theatres too, but have no photos inside one. Your New Orleans gallery is also fantastic. Great post!
Thanks, Sofia!
