Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: Along Back Country Roads July 24, 2021 by scillagrace “Roads go ever ever onUnder cloud and under starYet feet that wandering have goneTurn at last to home afar.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien Far off the major highways, in deep woods and high mountain forests, lie some of my favorite back country roads. Paved roads in remote places in the American West lead to canyons and deserts where the human population is minimal and natural landscapes stand out. Sometimes a back country road is a little more than your vehicle can handle. Use caution! My very favorite back country road is the gravel lane where my mailbox stands. I’m grateful to have a home far from the heavy thoroughfares where noise and stress oppress the environment. Thank you to the Lens-Artists guest hosts this week, Wandering Dawgs, for inviting us to share our back road adventures. Happy travelling, all, and safe home again! Beautiful photos Priscilla! They remind me of past trips.
Thanks for answering the challenge with these beautiful images! I want to go on every one of the roads!
My pleasure! Thanks for hosting us this week! Well done!
Some really beautiful images this week Priscilla. Loved your autumn colors especially; we don’t see much of that here.
Ah, Wisconsin. Don’t get as much here in Oregon, either.
Great roads all. I love the autumn shots.
Thanks, John. Gotta love that fall color!
Wow Scilla, these takes my breath away. I wanna go there…now!
Follow your bliss, then! 🙂
No I can’t …our borders are still closed (sad face)
Ah, well perhaps you will discover beautiful back country roads closer to home.
