“A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men.” — Roald Dahl
Some recent nonsense…
And some nonsense from ‘then’…
My family has gone through some very painful and pivotal changes during the pandemic. However, we all manage to make each other laugh even in the midst of difficult times. Yesterday, eleven of us gathered to lay my mother in the earth to join my father, my husband, and my sister. We were outdoors and masked. Our next gathering will be a Zoom call for Thanksgiving. I’m confident that there will be some nonsense and laughter again.
Thanks to Amy for hosting this week’s challenge and giving us occasion to reflect on the differences and similarities between Now and Then.

Don’t you just love family laughter, silliness in general, and lots of unexpected moments? Your pictures alone made me happy. I can only imagine how fun it would be to laugh together and be nonsensical! Great post!
I’m sure your Mom was there with you in spirit, joining in the fun, Scilla. Sometimes a little bit of nonsense and laughter can act like a safety valve during times of sadness and crisis. May we all find such moments of release from our daily worries. Thank you for sharing your memories of these happy times.

Thanks! Yes, I’m sure silliness is a catharsis that is biologically necessary. 🙂
I love “A little nonsense now and then”. Thank you for sharing family laughter and happy gatherings. 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving, Priscilla!
My pleasure! Happy Thanksgiving to you, too. 🙂
Good for you for carrying on and continuing to enjoy the laughter with family. Your mother, I’m sure, is smiling on all of you.
Oh, I’m certain she is! 🙂
A fun post! We all need that!
I know I needed it! Thanks for your visit, Teresa.
Great photos. Sorry for your losses. It’s all about family! The first priority, IMO.
Thanks, John; I agree!

Thanks, Sue; she is indeed quite close in all my happy times.
