Tradition has it that women are allowed to propose on Leap Day. I came home this morning from a Nature in the Parks gig and proposed to Steve that we go out for a walk. It was sunny and 54 degrees when I proposed. By the time we’d mailed our packages at the Post Office, it was raining and 45 degrees. So we headed toward what looked like a break in the clouds. Turns out the clouds were faster than we were, but we ended up at the beach on the shores of Lake Michigan. We had the entire shoreline to ourselves. I love being outside, no matter what the weather or the season. Here are some photos!
A great adventure close to home.
very nice, beautiful images.
Thank you! Your blog is stunning, too! Thanks for leading me there!
I just got back from seeing the snow that fell last night in San Diego. We’re not well known for snowfall.
Wow! No kidding?
wait — you live walking distance from Lake Michigan!?! And this is the first time those shores appear on your blog?!? Can this be true? Or did I miss something? I am scratching my head about why you want to go homestead anywhere else when your location offers such varied landscapes.
No, we’re not walking distance from the lake. We drove to the PO with boxes of packages and then drove to the lake in South Milwaukee. Took about a half hour.
Beautiful, it reminds me of the Lake Ontario shore, only with more variety of rocks.
Gorgeous phtos Scilla… MY favourite is the beach wood shot…
Steve pointed that view out to me. He liked the minimalist look of it.
