“There comes . . . a longing never to travel again except on foot.”
― Wendell Berry, Remembering

“I was the world in which I walked, and what I saw
Or heard or felt came not but from myself;
And there I found myself more truly and more strange.”
― Wallace Stevens, The Collected Poems

“Above all, do not lose your desire to walk: every day I walk myself into a state of well being and walk away from every illness. I have walked myself into my best thoughts, and I know of no thought so burdensome that one cannot walk away from it.”
― Søren Kierkegaard

Beautiful images and quotes. Walking is a great way to see the small details as we travel.
Thanks!
I’ve really enjoyed seeing bloggers interpret ‘On The Move’ through walking and cycling—such thoughtful takes! I was so focused on mechanized motion that I overlooked human-powered movement. And me, a devoted hiker in retirement… hmmm, how did I miss that?
Not sure, but I’m glad you’re getting responses to remind you! People are glad to share their personal favorites. 🙂
Priscilla, your take on the challenge is fascinating. The photos speak volumes.
Thanks!
Loved your approach this week Priscilla. I too am an avid walker and make a point of walking to and on our beach most every day. My favorite part of your post was your collage of feet – how very clever of you!!!
Thanks, Tina!
“Above all, do not lose your desire to walk…” Great advice and I need to do much more of it. Too easy to sit and read other peoples’ blogs….. But this was a great post. Cool water on sore feet!
I’m glad to encourage you – let the beauty you love be what you do!
Love this post, you do see most on foot.
Thanks, Ritva!
I love your take on the challenge and I wish I’d thought of it, there’s nothing I enjoy more than a good walk 🙂
Thanks – glad to represent!
As an avid walker I love your post and take on. Quotes and pictures, feet and all…Life.
Thanks! I knew there would be kindred spirits out there! 🙂
